Do you ever get that feeling like its Friday night and the year is 1994? I do sometimes. I sometimes get that reminder of laying on the carpeted floor in the middle of the living room wishing my life was as sweet as Mike Seaver’s. We all tried to recreated that feeling for this episode and didn’t come too far off. Not only were the topics 90′s related but so was the audio. I kind of messed up on this one. After a couple listens, I actually think I recorded the whole thing through the macbook’s internal mic. But for some reason, the mixer was working during level checks. This just goes to show, the further these episodes go on, the further I do not progress with the audio engineering. Its not that bad though. So enjoy.
Oh, and we are on itunes now. Go to podcasts and search for the brownout. My next step is to put create the enhanced audio with with album art and shit. Then we can put a link on the site to it.
We brought a few podcast virgins on this episode and all ideas were forgotten after the first three minutes. Cars were talked about, weed was talked about and the fact that firefly might be the most dangerous drink on the planet is something that should not be talked about. This was the precursor to the boo boo juice party. We talked about that and how the great mixologist could have done things different but didn’t. And it turned out great.
This episode only brings drunken banter after a night of (and or) day of eating chili in the meat (pun intended) of Kalamazoo. Cold and full of cheese fries, we talked about how awesome it was to have a new president. Oh and that dave used to be a lot warmer in his life. Diamond dave makes a cameo, so hold on and wait for the van halen references.
For the record, we call it the fifth browncast on the recording, but on a technicality, its the official sixth.
Tonight we ventured into new territory. I picked up a cheap web cam and attempted to stream the show live. We will try to continue this trend from hear on out. Check out the the stickam page for the show. It will contain most of the past shows. In this case, this is great because as I attempted to mix and put the latest show up, I see that no audio got recorded. Not the brightest of minds we are, but that didn’t stop us from adding plenty of sound effects as well as the new sound board.
So unfortunately, we won’t have any downloadable audio this episode. But we got video, so enjoy!
Thursday nights of unexciting events call for talks of miss Michigan pageants. Not only did we talk about how squeaky the stools in the brownout are, we talked about how hospitable the local bodegas are. Our dear friend Russ Strong chimed in to put his cents in and all was welcome.
So crack open that high life and try to figure out when that one day will come where I get the initiative to mix these podcasts once they are recorded. Seriously though, we apologize about the audio quality of this whole thing. We are looking into new ways to make it better. And, like always, give us your input – email us at thebrowncast@joef.org and give us your feelings. I mean true feelings. This is the internet and there is no holding back. Say whatever you want and we will read it on the show.
